Hey! I am Adriana Jelinkova

Alpine Ski Racer

I was born on April 10th 1995 in Brno, Czech Republic and have spent most of my childhood traveling across Europe. Because of that I am now fluent in English, Dutch and German. My parents have always loved skiing; thanks to them, I have also become addicted to this incredible sport.

At the age of 11, I moved to Austria and attended the „Skihauptschule“ in Bad Gastein. Those times were intense years full of hard work, great joy, as well as first disappointments. Despite all the obstacles, I was determined to fulfill my dreams of becoming a professional ski racer. After four years in Bad Gastein, I enrolled at the „Skigymnasium” in Saalfelden and began competing in FIS races. Unfortunately, the beginnings of my FIS career were accompanied by injuries and other challenges, which put me out of the game for a while. But I wasn‘t giving up.

In the season 2011/2012 I won the bronze medal in the Super Combined at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Six years later, I scored my first World Cup points in Killington (GS), Courchevel (PSL) and Lenzerheide (Super Combined). Additionally, I scored 19th in the slalom at the Championships in Åre.

The 2020/2021 season was spectacular – I reached the TOP 30 most of the time, with 10th and 11th place as my best results. With these results I qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing, China, being the first Dutch skier to qualify in over 70 years. Unfortunately, I tore my ACL right after I qualified for the Olympic Games during a race, which forced me to end the season immediately. Surgery and an intense rehabilitation of nine months followed. I returned to competing in the World Cup in December 2021 and in January 2022 – at the same ski slope where I got hurt the year before – I once again qualified in the TOP 30. This was a real proud moment of mine!

From the 2022/2023 season, I am competing for the Czech Republic. I represented the Czech Republic at the World Championship in France in 2023 and skied into the top 30 in the 2023/24 season. My goals are clear: getting into the TOP 15 in the Giant Slalom, lowering my points in the slalom, and getting into the TOP 30 as well. Currently, I am preparing for the World Championships in Saalbach in 2025. I am also aiming to represent my country in the Winter Olympic Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy in 2026.
